Victorian Street Scene
|
The Trustees of Hornsea Museum officially opened the new Victorian Street Scene to the public on 26th May 2002 in time for the Jubilee. The Town Mayor, Coun. Mrs. Jean Robinson, performed the cutting of the ribbon and was supported by Trustees, helpers and sponsors. The Hornsea Carnival Committee has generously supported this new project with some help from the Coastal Tourism Initiative Scheme.
The street, known as "Burn's Lane", runs at right angles to Newbegin and can be seen by passers-by during opening hours. It is hoped to attract more visitors by making them realise the depth of the museum premises, which is belied by the small frontage.
