Welcome

Hornsea Museum was established in 1978. Sited in an 18th Century farmhouse, it is a registered charity (number 509615) and is staffed mainly by volunteers.

In November 2006, it became a company Limited by Guarantee. The North Holderness Museum of Village Life (Hornsea Museum).

Number 5988434

Over the years it has won numerous national awards and has been featured on television several times.

The museum is not a relic but a living entity, changing with time, to reflect the changing patterns of village life in North Holderness over the passing centuries.

From the pre-industrial age of the early 1700's through to post second World War Britain, the museum shows human evolution, warts and all! Personalities, characters, tools, trades - all are presented in imaginative and informative displays accessible to old and young alike.

Our display areas are changed periodically, to offer our visitors a chance to see a variety of the many artefacts within the museum's collection.  If you are coming to the museum to view a specific object, we suggest that you contact us first to enable us to ensure that your item of interest is available for viewing at the time of your visit

Step back in time with HORNSEA MUSEUM.
